Why is fitness an important factor in ping pong?

In every sport player has to spare some time to maintain the fitness. In this article we will describe the importance of fitness in ping pong. At beginner level your physical fitness doesn’t play much part in the advancement of your game you just need the capacity of walking for few hours without getting exhausted. Even if you spend too much of the time on fitness it will not affect your game. It is not bad but it is not good either.
At the intermediate level fitness plays an important role and becomes an important factor because both of the players have developed the technique and consistency. The next thing that a player needs is footwork because every player has now learned sophisticated shots and they hit the ball in the positions which are hard to reach so an effective footwork is much required at this level. Your game becomes fast plus at this level you need powerful strokes and smashes which needs strength and power.
Being fit is of very importance but at this level players can use deceptive techniques and better tactics to reimburse the lack of fitness.
It is true that you develop fitness when you are in a game but you have plenty of extra time when your partner isn’t around you can utilize it by indulging in some ping pong specific exercises that will improve your aerobic fitness and strength.
For professionals or elite players physical fitness in very much important because all of your opponents will have everything including tactics, consistency and technique so in order to crush them you are going to need something more than that for a high level competition. Anaerobic fitness is very much needed in arduous counter loop and loop to chop rallies with the aerobic fitness which is required to maintain the intensity which is needed to indulge in a competition for a number of matches a day.
Professional players need an exercise plan which includes both work on the table and off the table techniques and exercise in order to develop a monstrous fitness. A player who focuses on of the table techniques is much likely to develop more fitness because of the rapid advancement and invention of new and effective methods.
